The Columbia River Gorge is a region located in both Oregon and Washington divided by the Columbia River. It starts just past Troutdale which is east of Portland and continues about 85 miles. The scenery through the gorge is spectacular with many micro climates along the way from "rain forest" to "high desert" and in between.
