Mosier, Oregon is a small town, population 430, located approximately 6 miles east of Hood River in Wasco County. The Good River Restaurant is located about 6 miles east of Hood River in the tiny town of Mosier, Oregon.  The restaurant's lunch menu includes tasty foods like a Grilled organic portabella mushroom sandwich w/balsamic, white truffle oil, roasted red peppers, and honey-lime dressing or the Mosier pizza with smoked bacon, carmelized pears, blue cheese, and mozzerella. How about the Providence salad with grilled chicken, apple wood smoked bacon, hard boiled egg, avacodo, cherry tomatoes, creamy vinaigrette + baby greens. For dinner you might enjoy Garam Masala Vegetarian Curry with chickpeas, spinach, butternut squash, carrots, cauliflower, almonds, coconut milk, garlic + rice blend or Pacific Sea Bass pan seared with a caper, olive, garlic, tomatillo, tequilla green sauce + rice blend. These are just a few of the many items available on the menu. Located in the Columbia River  just downstream of Mosier, Oregon and approximately four miles east of Hood River at River Mile 174 is an island which is often referred to as Chicken Charlie's Island.  Eighteen Mile Island gained this name from the man who resided on the island from 1915 until his death in 1963.  Apparently Charles Reither preferred the seclusion of this river island to life ashore. It is believed that he raised chickens on the island, thus "Chicken Charlie's Island".  There is one house located on the island. It has been for sale at different times during the past 15 years. You can best view this island when you are driving west on I84 from Mosier to Hood River.

The Mosier House is a Bed & Breakfast located in Mosier, Oregon.  This house was built in 1904 by John Newton Mosier who plotted the town of Mosier. Restoration on the house began in the 1980's.
