Columbia Gorge Sales Overview-February 2009

Here's the combined sales total of single family homes for the entire Columbia Gorge Region: Hood River & Wasco Counties in Oregon, Klickitat & Skamania Counties in Washington.  These are the cities and towns reporting sales.  These sales are only LISTED sales not FSBO's or unlisted sales. There were 14 homes  sold gorge wide in the month of February 2009.

Klickitat County Home Sales February 2009

The latest sales data from the RMLS for Klickitat County is in.  Sales have slowed further since last month possibly partly due to the winter weather we experienced in Dec/Jan.  These sales comps reflect only properties listed on the RMLS.  Unlisted or fsbo properties are not included. There were 2 total residential sales  in Klickitat County for February 2009. Here's the break down.

White Salmon- 1 home  sold  Listed for $425,000 Sold for $400,000  DOM(days on market)-35

BZ Corner - 1 homes sold - Listed for $249,000  Sold for $230,000 DOM-23

There are currently 11 homes sale pending in Klickitat County.  2 in White Salmon, 2  in Snowden, 2 in Lyle,  1 in Dallesport, and 4 in Goldendale.

THE DALLES in Wasco County

The Dalles is located about 80 miles east of Portland in Wasco County. The Dalles is one of Oregon's most historical cities known as the town at the end of the Oregon Trail. The Dalles was first incorporated by the Oregon Territorial Government in 1857 as "Dalles City" and was made the county seat which it remains to this day. The downtown area in The Dalles is a registered Historic District featuring architecture from the late 1800's and early 1900's. The population of The Dalles was 12,175 at last census.  The City provides services to over 70,000 residents of Wasco, Sherman and Hood River counties in Oregon and Klickitat and Skamania counties in Washington. The climate in The Dalles is high desert with only about 14" per year of precipitation.  Sweet cherries are the major agricultural product in The Dalles with over 6,000 acres of sweet cherry trees growing around the city. The annual "Cherry Days" festival is a favorite of many.

Skamania County Fog

I liked the view of the Oregon hills with layers of fog. I took these pictures last week from Stevenson, WA where I've been spending a lot of time working with my husband on finish carpentry in a new house. This is the view from the master bedroom.
